Fondation nationale des sciences politiques ((英語:National Foundation of Political Science)), or FNSP, was created by ordinance of Charles de Gaulle in 1945 to manage the transition of ''École Libre des Sciences Politiques'' into ''Institut d'études politiques de Paris'' or IEP Paris (Paris Institute of Political Studies) The mission of the FNSP was then and is today the management of the IEP Paris through the preservation of its buildings, library and research centres, and its decision-making bodies. The FNSP is both the managing body of the IEP Paris, and the central research arm of that school. Along with the IEP Paris, it is the direct descendant of the teaching and research facilities previously vested in the ''Ecole libre des sciences politiques''. It is an institution of private law, despite its prominence as the hub of political science research in France. The epithet ''Sciences Po'' includes the FNSP as well as the IEP Paris. The CEVIPOF is the research centre for Political research of the FNSP.
